This 7-day luxury safari takes you to some of the best wildlife viewing areas in northern Tanzania.
In Tarangire National Park, you’ll see large herds of elephants and impressive baobab trees. Serengeti National Park is known for its big cats and the annual wildebeest migration.
Ngorongoro Crater is home to the “Big Five”: lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, and elephant. Finally, Lake Manyara National Park is a great spot for bird watchers and is famous for its tree-climbing lions.
When you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), a Rijay Africa Travel representative will meet you. They will drive you to your hotel in Arusha, where you will stay overnight before your adventure safaris begin the next day.
After an early breakfast, we will travel to Tarangire National Park. The park is named for the Tarangire River, which runs through it. This river, known as the “river of warthogs,” is the only water source for wildlife during the dry season. Some areas have dense vegetation, including elephant grass and acacia woodlands.
Tarangire is famous for its elephant families, which often gather by the river. You may also see giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. These animals are followed by predators like lions and leopards. Tarangire National Park has more breeding bird species than any other place in the world.
This park is the best place to see elephants in their natural habitat, from playful calves to large bulls. After lunch and a thorough game drive, we will return to our accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay at a tented lodge or hotel.
After breakfast in the morning, take a short drive to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing. You will likely see large groups of baboons first. Lake Manyara National Park is in Tanzania’s Arusha and Manyara Regions, situated between Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley.
The park has many different landscapes and a wide range of plants and animals. It was created to protect the famous elephant herds in the area. Besides elephants, you might also spot tree-climbing lions. The alkaline Lake Manyara is home to flamingos and more than 400 species of birds, and you can often see hippos too.
You will have a packed lunch at a picnic site. In the late afternoon, continue with a short drive to the Ngorongoro Highlands for dinner and an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, you will drive to Serengeti National Park. Along the way, you’ll see wildlife. Serengeti National Park is one of the most famous wildlife parks in the world. It is known for its natural beauty and scientific importance. The park has the highest number of plains animals in Africa.
The Great Wildebeest Migration is what Serengeti is most famous for. Each year, over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras travel south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains in October and November. Then, they head west and north after the long rains in April, May, and June. Their instinct to migrate is so strong that nothing, not even droughts or rivers filled with crocodiles, can stop them.
Serengeti is truly home to this amazing migration. The park is full of wildlife and features endless plains, beautiful sunrises, and stunning sunsets. A packed lunch will be provided at a picnic site during your visit. In the late afternoon, you will drive to your accommodation for dinner and stay overnight at a lodge or tented camp.
After an early breakfast, drive from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater for game viewing. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s most famous places and has the highest density of wildlife on the continent. Often called an “eighth wonder of the world,” the Crater attracts more visitors each year. You might see other vehicles during your visit, but you will still enjoy impressive wildlife in this stunning setting. There is no other place in Africa like Ngorongoro!
It is one of the best spots in the country to see the endangered black rhinoceros, as well as lions, wildebeest, zebras, and hippos. The park is home to all of the Big Five and is especially good for seeing lions and Cape buffalo throughout the year. You will have a packed lunch at a picnic site. In the late afternoon, you will drive to your accommodation for dinner and spend the night at the hotel/lodge.
After breakfast, your private safari guide will pick you up from the lodge. You will then drive back to Arusha for last-minute shopping, re-packing, and lunch. Finally, you will be taken to the airport to catch your flight home.
